In chapter 3 the Bubble Vision Computer System is driving Jael crazy. And really why wouldn't it!
The Bubble Vision Computer System is basically a system installed inside the bubbles of the "children" so that they can be watched...and really so much more.
Like so many things the reason it exists and the citizenry allow the Bubble Vision Computer System and even support the Bubble Vision Computer System is fear. While this isn't discussed so much in the first book the government in Ekalfwons uses fear to encourage the status quo. And really the government is controlled by the corporations. It is an oligarchy, but the citizens believe it is a democracy (this will come into play more strongly in the next book).
But this isn't unique to Ekalfwons. A recent study done by Princeton University concluded that the United States was no longer a democracy, but an oligarchy. That the system was serving the top 1 percent, while ignoring the needs of the masses.
But back to the Bubble Vision Computer System. Here is what Bubble Vision likely is really designed to do:
1. Start manipulating those at an impressionable age into buying products.
2. Brainwashing those at a young age to conform to the oligarchy.
3. Get the citizens to do what the oligarchy wants the citizens to do.
4. Notify the government of non-conformists.
5. Spy on the citizens.
As you can see the Bubble Vision is a sinister invention. But that is what oligarchy's do.
