Whoever saves a life...

I thought I would share this from the trip I took to Hungary:

These are words from the Talmud, which are on a plaque by that statue of Carl Lutz.  Carl Lutz did numerous things to try to save Jews.  In the early 1940s before Hungarian Jews were being deported Carl Lutz issued documents allowing 10,000 Jewish children to emigrate.  Carl Lutz also fought, unfortunately unsuccessfully to stop the Jews from being sent to death camps.  In 1944, during the time when Jews were being sent to the death camps, Lutz worked out a deal where 8,000 Jews could emigrate to what is now Israel.  However, he applied this 8,000 number to families instead of individuals which allowed him to issue extra protective documents. Additionally, he established seventy six safe houses in Budapest for Jews to live in.  These houses were off limits to the Hungarian forces who were murdering Jews.  It is also said that when the Arrow Cross Party, a group very similar to the Nazis, were murdering Jews by shooting Jews into the Danube, Carl Lutz at least attempted to save one woman who had been shot.   It is said he jumped into the water in his suit and took her back to his car in defiance of the Arrow Cross Party.

Now you might think the Swiss government at the time would consider him a hero.  No, they didn't in fact they criticized him.  Now this is no different from the way so called "free" government treat today's animal rights activists.

When are we going to wake-up and realize that there is a Holocaust still going on for the enormous numbers of farm animals who are murdered every day. For all the farm animals who have their babies stolen. For all the farm animals who are used for profit by the greedy and then when they are no longer useful sent to their deaths.  In the time it took to read that last sentence hundreds of animals have likely been killed.

So who is going to save a life?  Or hundreds of lives?  Or thousands of lives?

And who is going to be a hypocrite and claim to be religious while funding the murders of animals?

Use this letter. Ask Bed Bath and Beyond to end its relationship with Hotels.com

Hotels.com has decided that engaging in and encouraging vegan bashing is okay (via the @captainobvious twitter page.  It isn't.  It not only encourages bullying of vegans, but much worse encourages the violent deaths of innocent beings.  Tell Bed Bath and Beyond that we will no longer shop there if they don't end their relationship with hotels.com

Customer Service Page: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/selfservice/ContactUs

You can also call 1-800-Go-Beyond

Dear Bed Bath and Beyond,
It has come to my attention that you have a relationship with Hotels.com.  Hotels.com is using their Captain Obvious page to bash vegans and encourage others to do the same.  As such, until Hotels.com issues and sincere and acceptable apology and engages in enough support of animal rights on a level acceptable to the large and growing animal rights community, we ask you to discontinue your relationship with hotels.com.  If you don't, I regret that I won't be a customer of yours anymore either (and I do like your stores!).

Another child murdered by an SUV

It is a very sad and backwards world that we live in.  A world where some worthless loser by the name of Reginald Auguste is allowed to get away with murder by SUV.

I've dedicated my twitter photo to a young girl named Jadaan whose tragic death has left me distraught.  Jadaan was playing outside with her friends on a dead-end street in Brooklyn.  Something every child should be able to do not only without fear, but without being murdered.

The reality is SUV's kill.  The flat fronts are far more deadly than either a car or even a minivan (for more detailed info see High and Mighty the Dangerous Rise of the SUV).

Even worse the driver had a history of reckless driving.  It amazes me that there isn't more outrage of allowing a dangerous weapon, such as an SUV, into the hands of almost anyone.  Why are there not more limitations and regulations regarding who can drive an SUV?  If there were Jadaan might still be alive today.

With so much outrage when a African american man killed two white people with a gun in Roanoke, it amazes me there is so little outrage when an African american child is murdered, plowed down in the street, and instead of a gun the weapon is an SUV.

Even worse Jadaan's brother was arrested.  Yes, you read this right...no not the person who murdered Jadaan, her brother.  What did he do that was so bad?  Out of the anger of seeing his sister being murdered he punched the murder.  And while I don't know this is the best way to handle things, it seems like this will be the only justice this poor little girl will get, at least at this point.  And at least it may serve as some sort of lesson for those who decide to kill people with their selfish choices to buy SUVs and then drive them recklessly.  A lesson the NYPD doesn't seem to care about when the victim is an African American child.

Please tweet under #justice4jadaan .  While I usually include book ads in my posts I'm not even going to tonight, because I'm so outraged I just want to get this out there.

It's letter time: Send this letter to Lush asking LUSH to make their products vegan

During vegan hour we were talking about cosmetics.  The topic of LUSH came up and how it seems odd they have not gone completely vegan.  Please send them this letter to help encourage them to go vegan.

Send to:
US: customercare@lush.com
Canada: customercare@lush.com
UK: wecare@lush.co.uk

Dear LUSH,
It is time to make your products completely vegan.  More and more people are switching from being vegetarians to being vegans...and so should you. Non-vegan products don't belong in cosmetics...or anywhere else for that matter.  Cow's milk is for the baby cow, not for use by human animals.  The dairy industry is directly tied to death.  Baby cows are stolen from their mothers and most of the males are killed at a very young age.  As a company that stands for animal rights, we hope you come to this realization and discontinue the few non-vegan products that you have.  I know that if your store were completely vegan I'd shop there more often.

Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm Chapter 3 Bubble Vision Computer System

In chapter 3 the Bubble Vision Computer System is driving Jael crazy.  And really why wouldn't it!

The Bubble Vision Computer System is basically a system installed inside the bubbles of the "children" so that they can be watched...and really so much more.

Like so many things the reason it exists and the citizenry allow the Bubble Vision Computer System and even support the Bubble Vision Computer System is fear.  While this isn't discussed so much in the first book the government in Ekalfwons uses fear to encourage the status quo.  And really the government is controlled by the corporations.  It is an oligarchy, but the citizens believe it is a democracy (this will come into play more strongly in the next book).

But this isn't unique to Ekalfwons.  A recent study done by Princeton University concluded that the United States was no longer a democracy, but an oligarchy.  That the system was serving the top 1 percent, while ignoring the needs of the masses.

But back to the Bubble Vision Computer System.  Here is what Bubble Vision likely is really designed to do:

1.  Start manipulating those at an impressionable age into buying products.
2.  Brainwashing those at a young age to conform to the oligarchy.
3.  Get the citizens to do what the oligarchy wants the citizens to do.
4.  Notify the government of non-conformists.
5.  Spy on the citizens.

As you can see the Bubble Vision is a sinister invention.  But that is what oligarchy's do.

Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm: Beginning of Chapter 3 Explained

Well, I'm finally on to chapter 3.

Jael starts off talking about how she hates mornings.  But I don't think it is actually mornings that she hates.  I think she just dreads waking up every morning in a society the revolves around selfish behavior.  A society where children are only taught to find self-esteem in success.  Because Jael doesn't conform she is considered a failure.

The great pediatrician Dr. Spock gave the following advice early in his famous book.  His advice was to help children find meaning in life by teaching them the importance of being good people who's goal is to make the world a better place and to take pride in helping others.  Sadly, this advice which he found so important and so central is often ignored for the advice deemed more "practical".

So in conclusion Jael, just lives in an awful society.  Unfortunately, this is probably a society that too many can relate to.  I think a large problem in society is that people are only taught to find purpose in superficial things.  Take those superficial things away and their whole self-esteem crumbles.  For example, instead of obsessing over a kids ability in a school subject or sport, obsess over times when the kid helps another person, animal, or the environment.

My husband releases his first book

I just wanted to share the exciting news that my husband has finished his first book.  It is called Business Ethics of Our Fathers.

I was lucky enough to get to read this book before anyone else.  One neat thing about the book is that it has a chapter on animal rights and a chapter on the environment!  The book also tries to bring back ethics into a business world that has become sadly very selfish and corrupt.  If only we could all treat each other how we want to be treated in business transactions, I personally feel that business transactions would be a lot less stressful.  The book also talks about the importance of treating workers well...something which has become less common in today's society.

Book Review: 25 Inspirational Animal Poems

Today I review: 25 Inspiration Animal Poems by Jenny Moxham

Rating: 9 out of 10

Pros: Strong animal rights message.  Quality and moving poems that nearly brought me to tears.  Poems that matter and make a difference.  Also currently free.  Well written.

Cons: Could have been a bit longer.

If I wasn't reading the book in public I would probably have been a puddle of tears by the first page.  The books presented animal rights, not as a lecture, but as stories.  Stories about the pain and suffering humans cause all other species of animals.  Background information about some of the poems is also supplied to help the reader better understand the poems.

The book deals with a variety of topics.  If covers everything from the pain and suffering caused by dairy to talking about the harm in hurting mice.

Please read this important book and better yet get your non-vegan friends to do the same.  Also when you are done reading this book please rate it on amazon.  This book has become the victim of so called "animal-lovers" who can't face up to all the ways they harm animals.

Yes, I do make money when you lend my books!

I thought I would write this post clarifying something.  Yes, if you have a copy of my books please do feel free to lend it to others.

An additional source for authors who use amazon is something called KU and KOLL.  Kindle unlimited is basically a paid monthly subscription service where readers can read numerous books for free (well once they have paid for the subscription).  KOLL allows people who have bought a copy of a book to lend the book to others.

Amazon has a total set amount of money amazon divides among all authors.  The amount/percent of money each author receives is based on the total number of pages read.  So while authors don't know how much money they will get, authors are still paid.  Amazon is not just giving away our works and not paying us!    So let's get vegan authors a larger share of this money!

Book Review: Grow Fruit Indoors

Today I review:  Grow Fruit Indoors: Amazing Gardening Guide To Grow Your Desired Exotic Fruits by Fiona Jenkins

Rating: 6 out of 10

Pros: Interesting tips.  Seems knowledgeable (but hard for me to judge because, I came in with almost zero knowledge of this topic).  Well written and edited.

Cons: As with many ebooks today, it is a bit short.  A basic knowledge of gardening is probably helpful in reading this book.

I learned that growing fruit indoors is probably more work than I'm willing to do.  Well, except perhaps the strawberries-it was nice the author mentioned an easier fruit to grow!  The book does seem to offer some nice tips...but I haven't gotten around to trying any of them.  Most of them I probably won't ever get around to trying to be honest.

But if you are serious or even curious about this topic, this book will answer some questions.  Just keep in mind for most fruit trees it seems that it may take several years to get usable fruit.  Which in an urban world where many people move often is another challenge.

Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm: Greenville

Okay, so I'm still explaining chapter 2.  I guess I have a lot to say.

In chapter 2,  I briefly mention another country called Greenville:

We are taught that Greenville is a horrible place; a place full of judgment, lacking freedom, and without our modern material luxuries.  My parents say it is both dangerous and boring.

Since this is a reference to chapter 2, I don't want to say too much.  Mainly, what I want to say at this point, is that the information those in Ekalfwons have on Greenville (if you didn't already notice) is based mainly on propaganda and to a lesser extent on stereotyping.

These two forces (propaganda and stereotyping) are used all over the world by governments to convince the citizens that they have a better deal than they actually do (Yes, including in the United States).  Lies have to be told about Greenville; otherwise many people would likely flee to Greenville.  Especially, those in the younger generation who did not pick which country they wanted to live in.

While there is a physical wall (fence) stopping those who would want to flee to Greenville, the government of Ekalfwons realizes there is a much stronger wall they can build;a mental wall or a propaganda wall.

Also remember the flip side to all of these statements which might sound good:

Full of judgment flip-side: People have freedom of speech, people can speak out and stop others from doing evil or selfish things.

Lacking freedom flip-side: Those in Ekalfwon's enjoy superficial freedoms.  Those in Greenville have real freedoms.

Lacking material luxuries flip-side: People in Greenville care more about people than things, there is more equality in wealth distribution.

I think my next Bubble Burst post will be chapter 3.  If you have specific questions you want answered either comment below or tweet me at @KaufmanBooks.  Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm can be purchased below.

There is no day like today to go vegan

There is no need or reason to gradually go vegan.  Gradually going vegan only prolongs suffering; both the animals and yours.

In fact, gradually going vegan is not a recipe for success it is a recipe for failure.  The meat, dairy, and fast food industries are all about addiction.  In fact, dairy on it's own has products that make it highly addictive.  Telling someone to gradually go vegan, is like telling an alcoholic to gradually cut down on their alcohol.

If you need to make your vegan transition easier there are several things I recommend:

  • Take a vegan multi-vitamin
  • Don't obsess over healthy vegan eating right away.  Buy some vegan comfort foods to help ease your transition.  Once you've gotten used to being vegan, than you can start focusing on healthy foods.
  • Get used to eating before you go to events and bring snacks with you (even if you are supposed to be getting a vegan meal it won't always happen and you don't want to be starving).
  • On that note get used to doing a little bit more planning (such as when you travel)
  • If you need support reach out to the vegan community on social media.
  • And remind yourself that the animals suffering and being murdered today, don't have the luxury of tomorrow.

Product Review: Snapy Humane Bug Catcher (from PETA)

I thought I would review the humane bug trap device called the Snapy which is sold on the PETA website.

Update: After several years of owning this it broke, but probably due to objects that are too heavy being placed on top of it, so I would mention being careful how you store it.

Rating: 7 out of 10

Pros: Works well and efficiently with certain types of bugs.  It's generally a humane solution.  You don't have to touch the bug (and from the bugs perspective it doesn't have to touch you either).

Cons: For it to be no kill you have to use it correctly (in other words it's the condom of bug catchers).  Some bugs are too small (and rarely too big) for the Snapy.  There are more efficient no kill ways to trap certain types of bugs (such as cockroaches-for more info I wrote a book called No Kill Cochroack Solution), but having a Snapy still helps too.

For those of you not familiar with it, the Snapy is a hand held device with a clear plastic window and a green panel that slides out underneath it to assist in the catching of bugs.

While the second you get your Snapy, you might be eager to start relocating bugs outdoors, the first thing you should do is to put a dot or sticker on the top side.  It is just too easy to accidentally use the wrong side of the Snapy and end up killing a bug by mistake.

Bugs that are under a centimeter are usually too small to be caught in the Snapy.  I've only ran into one bug too large!

When you close the Snapy it is important to make sure the bug is on the green paper.  Be careful the bug is not between the green paper and the glass, which will squash the bug.

Don't worry if you don't catch every bug right away.  It is more important not to harm or kill the bug.  With practice you will become more efficient at using the Snapy.

I'll also include a link to where you can buy the Snapy http://www.petacatalog.com/products/Humane_Bug_Catcher-584-3.html

For more information on how to remove roaches without killing them see my book (No Kill Cockroach Solution) below:

I'd love to show up for a Cecil the Lion protest dressed as a pig covered in blood

The other day I went to click on a Walter Palmer news story.   Several things of note happened:

  • I was shown an advertisement for Red Lobster.
  • The article quoted someone from Zimbabwe quoting that this was the wrong way to kill a lion.
  • It was noted an animal was used as bate (without any sympathy at all for the animal used as bate).
I'm guessing most of you know where I am going with this.  One animal is dead and you are using this to sell me on supporting the deaths of numerous other animals by visiting Red Lobster.  Your telling me that somehow if murder is done a certain way then it is okay; yet I bet you don't apply that standard to humans (well other than when the weapon of choice is a vehicle).  And somehow the animal that was killed for bate doesn't seem to matter either?

All I can say is that I hope this serves as a wake-up call.   Do most of these people realize that righting the death of one lion isn't going to save the millions of cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and fish that are murdered each year that are brutally murdered?

Personally, I'd love to show up for a Cecil the Lion protest dressed as a pig covered in fake blood; or a cow, chicken, etc.

Because what I can say for all of this is that I hope it sets a new standard of what is going to happen to those who murder an animal; any animal regardless of species.

Book Review: DIY Household Green Cleaning

I've decided to put to use my love of reading by reviewing the books I read (for better or for worse).

Today I review: DIY Household Green Cleaning by Sonia Cherry

Rating: 2 out of 10.

Pros: The book offers some information about chemicals and products to avoid.  It was free.

Cons: Very short.  Little useful information on what one should actually do.  I don't feel like it delivered on what it promised: A DIY household green cleaning solution.

If I had spent money on this book, I would have to say I would have felt Green-washed.  First, this book is even shorter than it seems.  I started reading it when I took my economy class seat and was done reading it by the time the plane started to taxi for take-off.  The real writing actually started on my kindle at 18 percent and ended at 69 percent.

Given there wasn't much in this book, I don't have much to say about it.  Only, that perhaps while it was nice to know some of the products to avoid, what I really wanted to know was how to clean effectively with natural products.  A few products were listed: vinegar, baking soda, boric acid and tea tree oil; but I think most people already know about these.  I'd also mention that while boric acid is natural I don't recommend using it.  Boric acid is a poison; it will kill insects (which is not something I want to happen) and can make you and your pets sick if ingested or not used correctly.

Anyways I don't think this book is worth 99 cents, let alone 2.99.

Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm Explained: Why are the "kids" in bubbles?

If you think about it the bubbles are really a very superficial and dumb solution for a paranoid society.   The bubbles are also a very selfish solution, emblematic of a society that only focuses on the individual; a society that doesn't focus on group or societal solutions.

You can see examples of this in the current state of the United States.  Instead of focusing on designing livable safe spaces or banning unneeded oversized SUVs, you see person after person obsessed with car seats (which we will get to more of later in the book).  There are constantly more and stricter laws regarding car seats, yet making spaces livable and safer is hardly even an afterthought.  Even more importantly studies not done by those who make car seats have found that car seats don't actually increase safety, because they provide a security blanket which encourages drivers to drive more recklessly than they would if they weren't using a car seat.

The scary thing is those of us in the United States already live in a society where people make superficial and dumb decisions that don't make anyone any safer.  A perfect example of this is all the idiots driving around in SUVs who don't even know their SUV's are built on cheap truck frames.

Even worse, superficial, dumb, and selfish solutions to fear and paranoia seem to be becoming more common, at least in many parts of the United States.  What will happen when this generation raised with these three types of solutions takes things one step further?

Send this letter: Free George Simolaris

George Simolaris is a hero.  Instead of sitting around on the internet (like most of us do) trying to save lives, selectman George Simolaris actually went out and painted the crosswalks which Billerica had failed to paint as promised for months.

Please send this letter to as many people as possible who work in the Billerica government.  Here is a directory with email addresses.  Also, please note the trending hashtags and tweet under them #FreeSimolaris #paintgate #Simolaris2016 #resignCurran and #Simolaris.

Dear Billerica Civil Servant,

You should be ashamed about what your town of Billerica has done.  Not only have you failed to protect lives by properly repainting crosswalks, now you want to try Selectman George Simolaris for being a hero and doing what the rest of you were too lazy to do.

Billerica may now be the cause of a worldwide boycott of Massachusetts.  Everyone involved in your government except George Simolaris should be ashamed.

It is time to drop all charges against George Simolaris including any fines.

We are also asking that John Curran resign due to his incompetency and his comments about George Simolaris resigning.  Additionally, we are asking for anyone else who called for George Simolaris to resign, to resign themselves and anyone whom was involved in pressing charges against him to resign.

Thanks, (sign your name)

More yummy vegan food from Budapest (Ganga Vega edition)

We got a variety of food at a cafeteria style vegan eatery called Ganga Vega.  The food was great-as you can see in the picture below!

While it might not look like the best thing from the picture-the best of all of it was the meatless meatball (they call it a veggie burger) on the left.

The staff were very nice.  It is really neat that when you go to a vegan restaurant anywhere in the world you feel a sense of community and common purpose.

By the way Ganga Vega is really easy to get to.  It is really only one stop north on the M3 from the touristy areas and it is right across the street (not on the square itself) from the M3.

Irish Language 101

English is the most commonly spoken language in Ireland and Dublin.  There is an Irish language as well, but even a number of the Irish are not fluent in the Irish language.  The Irish language gets referenced under different names including Irish, Irish Gaelic, and Gaelic.  In Ireland the Irish language tends to be referred to as just Irish.  The Irish take pride in their language.  As such, it is common to see both Irish and English signage together.  Also many museums offer Irish and English write ups.  It is rare that information is only presented in Irish.  Tours are almost always in English, but sometimes the tour guide might speak a few words of Irish for show.  Thus learning Irish is more for the experience, rather than a need.  English only became the more spoken language in Ireland following the potato famine.

But just for fun here are a few Irish words:

Hello: Dia dhuit
Thank You: Go raibh maith agat
How are you: Conas ta tu
Left: Cle
Right: Ceart

Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm Explained: Why is Jael a 23 year old kid?

Okay, so I'm still on chapter 2.  I guess I have a lot I want to say!  So today I will discuss why Jael is a 23 year old child.

I've recently been hearing expressions such as "18 is the new 8" and "12 is the new 2".  I'm not sure exactly why-perhaps it is the internet or the ever present fear mongering media, but whatever it is there is a scary trend of hampering the proper development of children by treating them younger than their age.

The problem is transitions are unavoidable.  There has been a slew of recent articles in regards to children of helicopter parents overwhelming the mental health systems at even the nations top universities (or perhaps I should say especially at the nations top universities).

These young adults aren't even able to cope with the smallest of life challenges because any time a minor challenge shows up the parent steps in the way.

Let me give you an example:

A group of teachers were taking a group of teens on a trip.  One of the teens was freaking out and all upset she had to ride the subway because she had an irrational fear of escalators not to mention being underground.  One of the other teens asked her what she did when she went to their local mall which had escalators.  She said her dad would drive her from one side of the mall to the other all so she could avoid an escalator!  She tried to call her dad numerous times from the train to complain about the trip, only to find her phone didn't work underground!  And I have to give the group leader props who told the teen who was being quite obnoxious and ridiculous she had to stick with the group and she was going to have to do thing such as ride on escalators if one was present.

But beyond this there are many young adults in their 20's who have parents who still treat them as if they are minors or even grade school aged kids.  The only difference is in Elalfwons the law has been changed to enforce babying those 18-27 on others.

Book Review: To Travel Hopelessly

I've decided to put to use my love of reading by reviewing the books I read (for better or for worse).

Today we review: To Travel Hopelessly by English Teacher X (Subtitled Five Years of Teaching English as a Foreign Language).

Rating: 4 out of 10

Pros: Well given he's an English language teacher, use of the English language in the book was good (well edited and good writing quality).  I found the work related stories entertaining.  And from what I can tell the book is always in free mode (although the hope of the author seems to be that you will buy his other books).
Cons: Stupid stories about women (who the author seems to view as almost objects).  Doesn't use his real  name which makes some of the stories perhaps questionable.  Needlessly crude.  Book gets depressing.

I started off enjoying To Travel Hopelessly, but by the end of the book I was eager for it to be over.  The book is basically endless stories about how everyone else is stupid and it is everyone else's fault (of course it is never the author's).  Most of the stories can be classified under one or more categories- bad work experience, bad drug experience, or bad relationship experience.  Some of the stories though are quite entertaining...others are just crude and pointless.

Now the bad work stories were kind of funny.  But just from reading the book I seriously doubt English Teacher X is an easy person to work with.  I can't imagine the drugs were helping the situation either.

The relationship stories were what truly drove me nuts.  Why English Teacher X thinks he is the gift to all women, I don't know?  Are all the stories even true or is this some barbaric male bragging?  And if they are if one has as many relationships implode as English Teacher X perhaps at some point they need to realize that they are the common denominator in all of those relationships; well if one can even call them relationships.  And perhaps the common denominator is treating women like sex objects.

Oh and if you are planning to go to Thailand, Cambodia, South Korea, Czech Republic or Russia you might want to use discretion in reading this book.  You aren't going to get a happy picture of any of these places from the author.

But worst of all, the authors attitude rubs off against you and by the time you are done reading the book all the glasses look half empty.

What should you pack when visiting Dublin?

Here are a few of the most important items to bring to Ireland with you.  First off don’t forget your passport or if you live in the EU or UK your identification card-that’s the one thing you absolutely won’t get into Dublin without.  If applicable, another document you should bring with you is your student identification card.  Some attractions offer a discounted price for students.

As for items, a good raincoat or rain resistant coat, good urban walking shoes, good shoes for hiking (if you plan to do any of the tours outside Dublin), long sleeve shirts and sweaters that you can layer, hat, gloves, and scarf.  Even if you are traveling to Dublin during the summer, pack some long sleeve shirts and a light jacket.  Outside of clothing, other items that you should bring include convertors for your electronics, fake sugar if you are into it (it’s rare in Ireland), cash, anything you will want for the plane ride, birth control (if applicable) and medications along with their packaging and pamphlets (if applicable).

Basic vegan food is available in Dublin and Dublin has numerous small grocery stores. (See my previous post on vegan food)  Thus, you do not need to bring food with you.

Bubble Burst the Truth About the Dairy Farm Explained: Chapter 2 Law of Judgment

Let's look at a few more lines from chapter 2 of Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm:

The most important law in our society is the Law of Judgment.  We are taught the Law of Judgment from the time we are young.  “Thou shalt not judge”.  The penalties for disobeying the Law of Judgment are serious; people spend their lives in jail for disobeying the Law of Judgment.

Now you might be inclined to think this sounds good.  It isn't nice to judge others.  Or even yes judgment shouldn't be allowed.

But remember this.  Judgment is useful.  Without judgment how would one stop evil?  A specific situation that comes to mind is AG GAG laws.  Laws that are used to silence judgment for the purpose of perpetuating evil in the name of blood money.

In fact, when you think of the current AG GAG laws you realize that many states have already imposed the Law of Judgment.  Now none of them call it this.  But here is a law stopping good caring people from exercising their right to free speech.  Meanwhile blood thirsty animal murderers are allowed to rape, kill, and abuse animals all in the name of blood money.  Yet, sadly the United States has become a dystopic society where there is no punishment for evil, only for good.

Sadly, judgment has become one of those buzzwords that has lost all of its importance.  That isn't to say all judgments are right; some judgments are wrong.  But without the freedom of speech to stop evil, evil will continue.

What's new at Kaufman Green Books and Guides July 2015

Hope everyone is having a good summer.  Here is what I'm currently working on:

  • I'm guessing the next book out, will be a book I had no idea I was going to write even a few months ago.  Let's just say we have had some visitors this summer; visitors of the German cockroach variety.  Realizing there is a lack on information on how to humanely rehome cockroaches, I'm working on a book called the "No Kill Cockroach Solution".
  • I continue to work on my Kaufman Green Guide Washington DC.  As previously mentioned this will be my first guide book where the food section will be exclusively devoted to vegan food.  It probably won't be out until close to the end of the year both due to reasons of the difficulty of obtaining tickets for certain attractions in DC and that it is going to be a rather big guidebook.
  • I haven't started a sequel to Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm.  But I have been thinking about it.
  • I still at some point plan to finish my book on childhood obesity.
  • I plan to do another travel guide.  Where will largely depend on pricing.
Also, wanted to mention, if you have read and enjoyed any of my books, it is always appreciated if you would leave a review on Amazon!

Speaking of my books, here are all five of my books below (from newest to oldest):

Bubble Burst: The Truth About the Dairy Farm explained chapter 2 part 3

I've decided to take a blog post just to focus on a few important lines in chapter 2:

Jael narrates to us:

The national motto of Ekalfwons is “the free and safe society”; our nickname “land of the safe, home of the free”.   I have known the motto and nickname since age five.  Sometimes I think our motto makes sense; sometimes I don’t.

How did these lines make you feel?

In today's society I feel that the following is becoming true: Whenever a business or individual has to overstate a quality, it is because that quality is lacking.  Likewise both freedom and safety are lacking in Ekalfwons.

Now freedom is a word that is used a lot in the United States.  But really how meaningful is it?  Animals are locked up in cages, raped and murdered; peaceful protesters, political prisoners and whistle blowers are thrown in jail; and so much more.

Perhaps, it is like the old saying goes "if you tell a lie enough times, than people will believe it is true".  Similar to in the United States the idea of freedom is a statement that is almost considered unquestionable.

Similar to in the United States, it is important to the powers that be in Ekalfwons that the people believe they are free.

As for the safety part of the motto that is also a lie.  In the United States there seems to be an increasing obsession with individual safety.  Notice I say individual safety.  Think about it-how much of all the safety stuff is actually about society as a whole verses hyper-individualist safety for the person preaching it and their children?  Even when the information the individual is using, is inaccurate and not based in solid fact.  And the information is often not based on solid fact.

Ekalfwons, is an extension of the current United States (or at least numerous individuals in it).  Those in Ekalfwons, don't care about the safety of their society or others outside of their families, rather they engage in a selfish hyper-individualism.

Now why has Jael known the motto since age 5?  Indoctrination.  You know why little kids sometimes ask the best questions about society?  Because they haven't been indoctrinated yet.

Indoctrination is an important part of Ekalfwons and placating the masses.  Like many smart people Jael wavers and struggles with an internal conflict between the indoctrination and her instinct about right and wrong.

Book Review: Venice: A Travel Guide to Murano Glass, Carnival Masks, Gondolas, Lace, Paper & More

I've decided to put to use my love of reading by reviewing the books I read (for better or for worse).

Today we review:  Venice: A Travel Guide to Murano Glass, Carnival Masks, Gondolas, Lace, Paper & More by Laura Morelli.

Rating: 9 out of 10.

Pros: Great information.  I learned a lot from this book.  I certainly feel that if I travel to Venice (which I hope to at some point) the information I learned will come in handy.   Even beyond art, I feel that I have a better understanding of Venice.  The book is very well written.

Cons: I don't think I have any complaints about this book, but I didn't give it a 10 because I can't list it among my all time favorite books; nor did I find it to be life changing or earth shattering.

I like reviewing travel books because there are a lot of garbage travel books out there.  Luckily, Laura Morelli's Venice guide is not one of them.

I actually learned more from this travel guide than I expected too.  The author obviously has a great knowledge of Art and Art History.  While I've spent much time thinking about the stories behind a painting, I never though much about the stories behind craft items such as lace or carnival masks.

The author gives a lot of advice that at least seems like it would be useful in regards to what to buy and how not to get ripped off.  I haven't been to Venice so I can't say for sure if I agree or not with this advice, but it seemed like the advice would be helpful.

Best of all, I felt I like when (and if) I do travel to Venice, I'll have a better understanding of Venice.  From avoiding tourist traps to finding out about the glass museum.  In particular, I liked the tips about avoiding offers for free rides (the cost of which will be high pressure sales).

Beyond the writing, I also enjoyed the pictures and a few of the pictures were excellent.

What's the deal with J Street (IMHO)

IMHO, J street is just another form of Zionism, that uses a different tactic that appeals to a more liberal/left wing audience.    In my op...
